Just  a Pet but I want the Option for Later

Please do not breed a pet just to breed your pet. I understand your dog is absolutely the best there is and you want to preserve a piece of that for years to come. But there is a lot more behind breeding than full registration and having a male and female breed. What makes your dog so special and cherished is unique to them and UNLIKELY to be passed down to their offspring. You simply cannot make a second of your pet, not even if you clone it. You should never breed for a personality. I will not provide full registration without commitment to proving the dog is up to the breed standard in some tangible way such as an AKC title. While I support other breeders I want to ensure my lines are protected and those I entrust with them will continue to breed cautiously just as I have done with my lines.

But I Paid A Lot for My Dog

The price paid is not just for the dog, but the years of planning, toiling and investing time into my lines. The price is for assurance in the best breeding and expertise behind your pet's companionship. The price you paid doesn't begin to cover the expenses for a breeding dog. It costs minimum of $3000 to get a quality pedigree, another $5000 to health test the dog, another $5000-15,000 to finish the dog (title it in conformation), and many, many more hidden expenses such as travel and time away from family in pursuit of proving and working your breeding prospect. Breeding is more about the dogs than it is about the money. It's hard to make a living breeding and selling dogs.

I Still want to Breed My Dog

I am happy to mentor you and teach you about being a breeder. I will happily co-breed your first litter and help you navigate the ups and downs of being a new breeder. Co-ownership is a $500 fee and your dog will be co-owned by myself and you until the first litter is born. I retain the right to select the stud/female and to keep first pick from the litter if I have interest in the pairing.

I Don't want Co-Ownership

All dogs on full registration will be co-owned until the dog is titled and health tested. I don't want my lines diluted with high-risk dogs or breed simply because they're a "good pet". Breeding should be done to improve the lines and improve the health. What my lines are bred to in the future is still a reflection on me and my kennel. I want to ensure I leave a good legacy, one that years later people can research and know that a Jackson's Doberman is a healthy line to have. If you are interested in showing your dog in AKC shows please contact me to discuss options.
